The Flight Thing

About The
Flight Thing Deals

What this list is, and what it is not.

Most of the cheap flights worth knowing about never appear on a homepage banner. Someone spots a sale, a mispriced long-haul, or a cabin upgrade that undercuts the usual economy total, then writes it up somewhere else: a newsletter, a forum thread, a deal blog. That writing is useful. Finding it in time is the hard part.

The Flight Thing | Deals is our attempt to keep those published finds in one place without turning them into another opaque booking funnel. We take what a publisher already put online, keep the parts you need to compare (from/to, cabin, airline, price, when you can fly), and leave the article attached so you can read the conditions where they were written. If a row looks right, you leave this site and finish the job on the airline or agency page the writer named.

Features will keep arriving. Right now the product is intentionally thin: open the board, set filters, click out. No login wall.

Filters

Start with the airport you can actually reach. Destination is optional: some people hunt a city, others hunt a price and let the map decide. Cabins run from economy up to first. If you care about a specific airline or alliance (miles, status, whichever reason), dial that in. A max price plus “cheapest first” is usually enough to see whether anything on the board is even in range.

The listing is not the contract. Blackout dates, bag rules, and the rest almost always sit in the publisher’s write-up. Open it.

Pipeline

We do not run a tip line. A deal reaches the board only after someone has already published it in public. From that piece we keep a small set of fields so two rows can be compared without reading two long articles first. When the travel window is over or the listing is too old to be useful, it comes off. A short, current board beats a graveyard of dead fares.

Full articles are not mirrored here. Headlines, photos, and the research stay with the people who did the work. Our job is the pointer, not the reprint.

What we will not pretend to be

This is not a travel agency desk. Nobody here issues a ticket or takes card details for a flight. The number on a row is whatever the publisher reported when they wrote it; it can be wrong by the time you click. Treat the board as a lead, then verify on the booking site before you rearrange anything.

How people usually waste a good fare

Holding out for the perfect date is how the cheap seats empty out. Nearby airports and messy midweek departures are where the money usually is. Add bags and seat fees before you celebrate the headline. And if a number looks absurd, assume the inventory is measured in single digits: check the airline or agency page while the tab is still open.

The Flight Thing

The deal board is the sibling of The Flight Thing, which is for building your own search. Plenty of people skim deals here to learn what a route has been going for, then go price the trip properly on the main site.

Questions people ask

Does it cost anything?

Looking and filtering is free. There is no account and nothing to subscribe to.

Can I book a flight here?

You cannot. Click through to the publisher’s article and book with whoever they name (airline or agency).

Is this a travel agency?

It is not. Tickets are not sold here, and nobody here takes your payment for a flight.

Who operates The Flight Thing Deals?

Monswyk AG, Hauptstrasse 51, 8585 Zuben TG, Switzerland. Swiss company number (UID) CHE-479.234.184. Board: Torsten Schubert.

Where are the servers?

Monswyk AG is registered in Switzerland. The app itself runs on servers in the EU.

Why is a deal I found here no longer available?

Inventory is thin and windows are short. By the time a fare reaches a blog or newsletter, seats may already be gone. Always reopen the source before you rearrange your calendar.

Where do the deals come from?

From deal write-ups that were already public. We keep the route, cabin, carrier, price, and dates in a form you can filter, and we leave the article as the place to read the rest.

Do you cover business and first class?

Those cabins are in the feed. Use the cabin filter if that is all you care about.

How often does the list change?

As new write-ups appear and older ones drop off. Yesterday’s board is a poor guide to today’s.
